Reconciliations is a project about desire. It uses the framework of the stereoscope card to construct real and imagined relationships between relatives pictured in my vernacular family photographs. It is an experiment in collaborating with my blood-memory. Stereograph cards and viewers allowed users to experience alternate realities by fusing two similar images into a unified picture plane that gave the illusion of a three-dimensional environment.
